This is another screen print also inspired by the town I grew up in. The abbey shown at the top of the print was very close to the house I grew up in, it was called New Abbey or Sweetheart Abbey. the reason for the name was that Lady devorgilla embalmed her husbands heart in a silver casket after he died and carried it with her until she was finally buried at the abbey, hence the name sweetheart and also the first appearance of the term sweetheart in the English language. Dulce Cor was the original name meaning Sweet Heart in Latin. Below are the sketches I made for this print. I also feel it necessary to say that the bridge is devorgilla bridge after the woman herself.
